Apia Port Facilities

The main port of Apia facilities are:

  • The main wharf of Apia Port was constructed in 1966 for conventional cargo handling purposes with the provision of full scale port functions such as a 12m deep and 185 long berth;
  • The new wharf extention (166m) was commissioned in november 2003;
  • New Berthage alignment (302 meters) for port of apia after the safety enhancement and rehabilitation project funded by JICA is completed by june 2018;
  • Wharf and terminal floodlighting, power and water is provided for vessels alongside both berths;
  • Provision of a bonded warehousing facility for mixed port transhipments;
  • One hundred and nine (109) Reefer Plugs for refrigerated containers;
  • Samoa Customs and Quarantine services have offices within the Port area.
